Ezra Pound

The first volume of what will almost certainly be the definitive biography of Ezra Pound, this book shows Pound at the zenith of his glory, Pound as the outrageous, radical, fiery poet who revolutionized modern language and played a huge role in the discovery and refinement of T.S. Eliot, or, as Pound refers to him, The only living man whose work has more than a most temporary interest. (Of his own work, he said, I shall survive as a curiosity. ) In many regards, this prophecy turned out to be true, as Pound`s legacy became overshadowed by his years as a raving fascist and anti-Semite.
